More Exciting News!

Michael got a job in Virginia!

He'll be working with Loudoun County at a job that is similar to his current position in AZ.

He starts on July 21st.

We'll move into our apartment here sometime during the first week of August.

I have to pause and say that things could not have worked out more perfectly for us.  More perfectly than we could have ever imagined.  It's been really difficult living in Arizona without a job, to say the least.  I'm not kidding when I say that I probably applied to 100 jobs at a variety of places there.  Nothing.  Nada.  After a while that really starts to mess with your head.

I think I applied to three jobs in Virginia.  Three!  And the job I got I didn't even apply for.  My resume happened to be in the right hands at the right time and the rest is history.  Michael also applied to three jobs in Virginia.  He got calls from two.  One was willing to work with him long-distance from Arizona and even interviewed him twice via video conference.  Michael got a job that he interviewed for from our living room in Arizona!

Knowing that Michael had a job only 11 miles from mine allowed me to start searching for an apartment.  My Mom and I went out on Saturday to begin our search.  We looked at a couple of dumps before stopping by a brand new community on a whim.  I'd seen the community online and thought, "No way can we live here.  It's brand new.  It's way too expensive."  We went anyway, talked to the leasing office, and tried to keep our jaws from dropping when we heard the current deals.  As long as everything checks out, we'll be moving in to a brand new apartment there in August.  I love, love, LOVE it.  It's about 8 miles from my job and about 3 miles from Michael's.  It's 20 miles from where my parents live.

We've been truly blessed and know that Virginia is where we are supposed to be.  With all that has happened in the last two months, how could it not be?

Congratulations! My sister-in-law lives in Loudon County and loves it, and it is amazing what you can get "new" out there compared to a comparably-priced "old but closer to D.C." place around here!

Though I wish you were closer, at least you're now in the same state.
